Sorry to say dude, but the anime been pretty faithfull to the manga so far, the manga also kinda speedruned at the star a lot fo the relationship with the shadow girls BUT it makes up for it by later on (around the part where the anime should end) by giving us a lot more chapters, flashbacks and side stories from the pov of the girls, so it evens out.

Actually its the Light novel the anime is adapting from. The light novels of this series has more details and well there are some tid bits are rushed.
